Welcome to Crystal Lakes!

The Crystal Lakes Fire Protection District and Crystal Lakes Volunteer Fire Department are thrilled to welcome you to our beautiful mountain community. Living in Crystal Lakes means breathtaking views, abundant wildlife, and a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. But mountain living also comes with unique challenges, and we are here to ensure the safety, readiness, and resiliency of our community. It’s our mission to Protect Our Piece of the Mountain, and we invite you to join us in keeping Crystal Lakes safe and prepared.

Our Commitment to You

We are a team of dedicated volunteers who are on call 24/7 to respond to emergencies, from wildfires and medical incidents to search and rescue operations. Our Fire Protection District ensures that our department has the equipment and training necessary to serve our community effectively. We are committed to:

  • Safety – Providing fast and professional emergency response services.
  • Readiness – Training continuously and staying prepared for any situation.
  • Resiliency – Helping property owners reduce risks and recover from emergencies.

How You Can Help

Crystal Lakes thrives because of its strong, engaged community. We need volunteers! Whether you have prior experience or are willing to learn, there’s a place for you on our team. From firefighting and medical response to logistics and support, every role is critical. If you’re interested in making a difference, we’d love to have you join us!

Protecting Your Property

Fire mitigation is essential in our mountain environment, and we’re here to help! Our department provides property evaluations and guidance on creating defensible space to reduce wildfire risk. Small efforts—like clearing brush, removing dead trees, and spacing firewood away from structures—go a long way in keeping our community safe. Reach out to us for tips, resources, and assistance.

Stay Connected

We encourage all residents to stay informed about fire conditions, emergency alerts, and community safety initiatives. Sign up for local alerts, follow our website, and participate in community meetings and training events.
