December, 2023 

December 8, morning -- Incident #61 -- medical call at Basecamp -- CLVFD emergency medical responders provided patient assessment and care while firefighters stood by at station in case a landing zone was needed for the Lifeline helicopter and Special Duty Responders led in the Red Feather Lakes ambulance. 
 

December 15, morning -- Incident #62 -- MVA on 73C in Filing 7 -- CLVFD emergency medical responders provided patient assessment and care at the scene of a motor vehicle accident while firefighters checked out their vehicle, which had gone off the road, to ensure it was not leaking fluids and stood by  in case a landing zone was needed for the Lifeline helicopter. Special Duty Responders provided traffic control around the scene and led in the Red Feather Lakes ambulance. 
 

December 15, evening -- Incident #63 -- MVA on 73C in Filing 7 -- CLVFD  Special Duty Responders managed traffic control around the scene of the MVA that had place taken earlier in the day to allow a tow truck to safely extricate the vehicle.


December 25, morning -- Incident #64 -- medical call in Filing 12 -- CLVFD emergency medical responders reported to scene to provide patient assessment and care while firefighters stood by at station in case a landing zone was needed for the Lifeline helicopter and Special Duty Responders stood by to lead in the Red Feather Lakes ambulance. 


December 28, afternoon -- Incident #65 -- medical call in Filing 2 -- CLVFD emergency medical responders provided patient assessment and care while firefighters established a landing zone was needed for the Lifeline helicopter and Special Duty Responders led in the Red Feather Lakes and UC Health ambulances. 


December 28, afternoon -- Incident #66 -- medical call in Filing 2 -- Once of the CLVFD firefighters was injured while setting up the landing zone for the above call and was treated by emergency medical responders on scene. No emergency transport was necessary.


December 31, evening -- Incident #67 -- smoke report in Pearl Creek -- CLVFD firefighters responded to reports of a large quantity of smoke in the Beaver Meadows/Pearl Creek area and tracked it to an illegal slash burn. Reminder: slash burns are permissable during the winter months for properties that are not within the Crystal Lakes Road & Recreation Association; however, ALL slash burns require permits approved by the county and CLVFD.

November, 2023 

November 15, evening -- Incident #58 -- illegal burn in Beaver Meadows -- CLVFD firefighters responded to a report of large flames near the Beaver Meadows restaurant with no one visible nearby. They responded to find a trash fire with no one in attendance, so brought in a Brush truch and extinguished it. Law enforcement and the Beaver Meadows manager were informed of this illegal fire.

 

November 17, morning -- Incident #59 -- medical call in Filing 6 -- CLVFD emergency responders provided patient assessment and care while firefighters stood by in case a landing zone was needed for the Lifeline helicopter and Special Duty Responders led in the Red Feather Lakes and UC Health ambulances.  

 

November 29, morning -- Incident #60 -- medical call in Filing 15 -- CLVFD emergency responders provided patient assessment and care while firefighters stood by in case a landing zone was needed for the Lifeline helicopter and Special Duty Responders led in the Red Feather Lakes and UC Health ambulances and provided traffic control around the rendezvous location of the two ambulances so the patient could be safely transferred. 

October, 2023 

October 7, morning -- Incident #55 -- smoke report south of Panhandle Reservoir -- CLVFD firefighters responded to search for the source of smoke spotted on the south side of the big lake, possibly in the area of Mosquito Drive while Special Duty Responders staged to lead in responders from other agencies, if necessary. RFLVFD firefighters also responded, bringing with them a drone, with which the source of the smoke was quickly tracked to a campfire in a properly constructed pit, and all responders stood down.

 

October 11, morning -- Incident #56 -- medical call in Filing 12 -- CLVFD emergency responders provided patient assessment and care while firefighters stood by in case a landing zone was needed for the Lifeline helicopter and Special Duty Responders led in the Red Feather Lakes and UC Health ambulances.  

 

October 26, evening -- Incident #57 -- medical call in Filing 6 -- CLVFD emergency responders provided patient assessment and care while firefighters stood by in case a landing zone was needed for the Lifeline helicopter and Special Duty Responders led in the Red Feather Lakes ambulance, then provided traffic control on 73C so the patient could safely be transferred between the RFLVFD and UC Health ambulances. 

September, 2023 

September 3, morning -- Incident #44 -- medical call at CLVFD station -- CLVFD emergency responders provided patient assessment and care while firefighters stood by in case a landing zone was needed for the Lifeline helicopter and Special Duty Responders staged to lead in the Red Feather Lakes ambulance. 

 
September 4, morning -- Incident #46 (Dispatch accidentally skipped #45) -- motor vehicle accident in Filing 2 -- CLVFD firefighters responded to assist in getting a recreational vehicle that had gone into a ditch back on the road. There were no injuries and responders were able to winch the vehicle back on the road without further assistance.
 

September 5, afternoon -- Incident #47 -- medical call in Filing 15 -- CLVFD emergency responders provided patient assessment and care while firefighters stood by in case a landing zone was needed for the Lifeline helicopter and Special Duty Responders staged to lead in the Red Feather Lakes ambulance. After medical providers were on scene, further assistance was refused and all responders stood down.

 

September 15, afternoon -- Incident #48 -- medical call in Filing 8 -- CLVFD emergency responders provided patient assessment and care while firefighters set up a landing zone for the Lifeline helicopter and Special Duty Responders led in the Red Feather Lakes and UC Health ambulances. 
 

September 16, afternoon -- Incident #49 -- medical call in Filing 8 -- CLVFD emergency responders provided patient assessment and care while firefighters stood by in case a landing zone was needed for the Lifeline helicopter and Special Duty Responders led in the Red Feather Lakes ambulance. 

 

September 24, morning -- Incident #50 -- MVA in Filing 5 -- CLVFD emergency responders reported to the scene of an ATV accident and provided patient assessment and care while firefighters stood by in case a landing zone was needed for the Lifeline helicopter and Special Duty Responders led in the Red Feather Lakes and UC Health ambulances.

 

September 25, afternoon -- Incident #51 -- medical call in Filing 3 -- CLVFD emergency responders provided patient assessment and care, with some firefighters providing assistance in carry-out of patient (who'd fallen on one of the hiking trails) while others stood by in case a landing zone was needed for the Lifeline helicopter, and Special Duty Responders led in the Red Feather Lakes and UC Health ambulances. 

 

September 28, night -- Incident #52 -- mutual aid to RFLVFD -- CLVFD firefighters responded to assist Red Feather Lakes VFD with a trailer fire that appeared to have been caused by a propane explosion. The fire was quickly extinguished and responders mopped up hot spots and helped secure the area until law enforcement arrived.

 

September 30, afternoon -- Incident #53 -- medical call in Filing 4 -- CLVFD emergency responders provided patient assessment and care while firefighters established a landing zone for the Lifeline helicopter and Special Duty Responders led in the Red Feather Lakes and UC Health ambulances. 

 

September 30, evening -- Incident #54 -- medical call in Filing 1 -- CLVFD emergency responders provided patient assessment and care while firefighters stood by in case a landing zone was needed for the Lifeline helicopter and Special Duty Responders stood by to lead in ambulances. All further response was called off once responders reached the scene and conferred with the patient's family, who refused further medical treatment.
